In 2003, EasyInsure team member, Pat Pagano, an avid fisherman, started the ICHA (Italian Canadian Handicapable Association) Fishing Derby in Windsor, Ontario.
The yearly event has grown from 10 participants to now welcome more than 250 handicapable fishermen of all ages, becoming the largest derby of its kind and receiving national attention, televised Canada-wide and in the USA on the Canadian SportFishing TV Show, hosted by Italo Labignan. Further exposure for the derby has been seen on Sportsnet Network, WFN, CHCH, YES TV, and more. The ICHA welcomes people from all over southwestern Ontario to join in the fun of fishing, food, and entertainment while instilling a sense of community.
We’re thrilled that Pat was awarded the Rick Amsbury Award of Excellence. This award is presented annually to an individual judged by the angling community based on their outstanding performance put forth through the course of the year.
